DRIVING DYNAMICS
SIGNATURE MAZDA DRIVING DYNAMICS EMBODY THE FULL SPIRIT OF Zoom-Zoom
The Mazda5 features the stable, predictable and comfortable drive characteristics the family needs. Chassis systems are tuned to minimize roll movement despite the relatively tall body height and constantly changing load demands of varying numbers of passengers and luggage, while at the same time offering exhilarating performance that every driver will enjoy.
The chassis, body and power-train are all products of extensive testing and development efforts aimed at delivering performance that makes driving more enjoyable along with handling stability, ride comfort, packaging and functionality that family and friends will find comfortable and easy to use.
THE MZR 2.0 ENGINE
Features of the 2.0-litre MZR petrol engine include an aluminium-alloy cylinder block, lightweight pistons, low-tension piston rings, equal-length intake pipes, low-resistance air cleaner, high-flow intake ports, and Tumble Swirl Control Valve.
SUSPENSION
The MacPherson struts in the front and multi-link suspension in the rear are specially tuned to ensure a comfortable and stable ride for passengers in all three rows of seats, while pleasing the driver with the right amount of rigidity, precision and linear handling stability.

EHPAS SYSTEM
Mazda's own Electro Hydraulic Power Assist Steering (EHPAS) system modulates the amount of assist power to match driving conditions for a more natural feel to steering, and reduces power consumption to contribute to improved fuel economy.
AERODYNAMIC PERFORMANCE
The latest in advanced analytic technologies were employed in developing a body with optimum aerodynamic performance. The result is improved handling stability and fuel economy when driving at highway speeds, as well as a quieter ride.
The sash-mounted door mirrors are one more example of the Mazda5's functional beauty. The housing curvature, housing inclination and mounting thickness are meticulously designed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency.
